Greetings all, I'm just coming back to the game after at least 10 years away. Needless to say 10 years of content is a lot to catch up on and adapt to. So I wanted to start this thread as a place for veteran players and new players to post and share things they have found helpful as the game has changed.
I know for me that the new combat layout and all of the new abilities has been a challenge to me. So here are 3 videos that I found helpful.
Also if you are like me and coming back to the game after a long time away, I found starting with some quests a good place to start. A lot of quests now have crazy good rewards compared to what they used to be. Also some of the quests that you have done may have to be redone or might have additional post quest rewards that are well worth doing.

Having assistance to catch up on all of the new content a game releases is definitely a huge plus, nice thread. Also, I know RuneScape changes a lot. Do you have any personal advice from experience Cheeserules8 ?

Coming back to it after 10 years away has been interesting. Luckily everyone here has been amazingly helpful so far. What I have found to be helpful as far as catching up on new content (only 3 months back into playing again) don't try to get it all at once. So far what has been working pretty well for me is find something you want to do and look up and ask around the best way to do it. Then simply go out and do it then repeat it with the next thing you want to do. Doing it this way so far I got 99 mining, smithing, herblore, got my thieving up to 90 without really trying. I also unlocked Priff which is very helpful with getting basically every skill up. Next I'm going to do another round of quests till I need more skill requirements. Once I'm done with that I'm going to focus on slayer and getting all my combat skills up. So that will give me the chance to learn about all the new weapons, armors, combat abilities etc. TLDR: Break it down to to small manageable sizes, don't try to learn everything at once.

Thanks for this. I myself suck at combat related things other than slayer so seeing some videos in regards to how combat works definitely helps me out some.

Ooo I like the idea of questing with people sugarsnappys, I'll take you up on that offer for sure. I'm only at 232 QP right now and I need to unlock curses and all sorts of stuff that they put in new quests since I left.
